On January 18th, 2010, hundreds and anti-choice activists descended on Houston to protest against our new Planned Parenthood. This is short, barely edited film of their movement and the barricading of ours.

sure, in the sense that they are produced by humans and have the potential to become human beings, but that does not make them medically human beings. They don't have thoughts, feelings, emotions, consciousness, or the ability to self-sustain outside the woman's body.

Newborn babies don't have thoughts, feelings, emotions, consciousness or the ability to be self-reliant. Are you saying that this makes them sub-human as well?

I believe that in a more evolved society the option of abortion would not be necessary due to improved socio-economic conditions that allow women and couples to be more conscious about their sexual practices to better plan their parenthood. I also believe that we as socialist/communist should have the sensitivity to not delve ourselves into frivolous arguments that question our own human dignity and integrity.

This is an issue for which I find the arguments to be very disturbing and off-putting, particularly those coming from the left. I consider myself pro-choice, but have found the left/liberal arguments to be very frivolous for my taste. I consider abortion to be morally wrong, but agree that given some socio-economic circumstances it is the most proper choice a woman can make, and I believe that the right to make that choice belongs to her.
