The El Cortez hotel-casino looks nearly the same as it did when it opened in 1945, on East Fremont Street, Las Vegas, Nev.

  • Unfortunately, no. The regular eggs and bacon breakfast at the El Cortez Cafe is now $5.50, but their graveyard special (11 p.m. to 7 am.) is $3.95. Not too many 99-centers left in Vegas these days.

  • nicely done video

  • Thanks so much. The outside of the El Cortez has changed little at all since the mid-1940s.

  • i walked through the casino last year. they sell their playing cards at a local junk store where i live so i figured i had to go in at least once and see what it looked like.. well it's small and smokey. it smelled like the cigar smoke has been in there since the 1940s. i could only take about 20 minutes and had to get some fresh air.

  • i wonder if it smelled like puke in the 40's?

  • For about 20 Dollar , a Porterhouse-steak,you will never forgett !

  • yeah, looks like it did in 45 and smells worse! What a dump! I stayed at their new Cabana Suites and felt unsafe. Couldn't sleep because of the cops, ambulances, derelicts yelling at each other. I got hit on by bums every time I'd leave my hotel room or go back. Food at the restaurant was sub-par at best. Most disgusting and horrible experience I've had in years. I'm heading back to the strip. You certainly do get what you pay for!

  • Best casino in Vegas. Three dollar blackjack, 25 cent roulette, three dollar craps. No volcanoes or fountains just great gaming and and that cool old Vegas feel. Long live the ElCo!

  • damn my dad used to go there all the time and he said he loved it, i guess that says alot about my dad.:-(

  • By far My Favorite Casino. Thanks Jackie great job.

  • Nicely done. I gotta admit, you make it seem like a quaint, nostalgic Vegas hotel (smartly, you didn't go inside, no offense :)

  • do they still have the 99 cent breakfast?
