The little town of Peaksville is the only little place left in the world. Or what's left of the world. It's remnants are ruled by a monster named Anthony Fremont. A 10 year old little monster who only likes happy thoughts. Thus, Peaksville is a happy town. A might happy town. Everything is just swell. Everything is just fine....
@belartful More general than that, this is ANY government where the people are afraid of resisting or talking against what they say in fear of death. It could be America (though probably more Red Scare/Vietnam America seeing when this was made) or it could be, say, the former Soviet Union. Doesn't matter which. The theme's pretty universal...

Outdated?? Take out a loan and get a clue, they were made in the 50's and 60's...of course they are outdated in 2010. Makes them no less pertinent to those of us who first viewd them then or less enjoyable. Now off to the cornfield with ya! *grin*

This is a great episode. I think most Twilight Zone episodes are boring and outdated but this actually stands the test of time for creepiness and originality.

Epic episode. Probably The Twilight Zone's most brilliantly chilling episode ever.

The little boy in this video is our government here in the U.S. The man that turned into the jack in the box was an "Aware American" who was aware of the evil the Globalists are doing. The people who stood there and didn't listen to his warnings to kill the boy, are simple minded Americans who are too afraid to act.
I think the writer was onto something.
