Martello Towers, Quebec City, Canada.MP4

On August 13, 2010, I visited Martello Towers Nos. 1 & 2 on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City, Canada. The Martello Tower was a type of fortification developed by the British, at first to defend the British Isles from Napoleon, 1803-05. Later, the British built them in a variety of places around the world. The United States erected some similar towers in a number of locations along the East Coast and on the Gulf.
