@rickt85 Put a towel down first so you can touch the iron to it. Works for me, even on veneer.

@rickt85 did you make sure just to hover the steaming iron over the table? I never applied the iron directly to the table - the steam is what does it. Applying the iron directly to the table would definitely make it worse. Sorry it didn't work for you. :(

@tilly0741 as best I can tell - it seems like there are a few folks for whom the steam method doesn't work. if the steam method doesn't work, try a dry heat method like the hairdryer, or perhaps turn the steam down and use a lower iron setting.

@tilly0741 also, do a google search for "repair heat stain on wood tipking" and click the first link -- they had a method using mayonnaise that seemed to work for some, but not all.

Did you put varnish or polish on it afterwards? If "yes," was the table cold?
