Ekman's CACTI nominated for Zwaan 2010

CACTI by choreographer Alexander Ekman has been nominated for the Zwaan award for 'most impressive dance production 2010' by the Dance Panel of the Dutch Theatre and Concert Hall Management Association VSCD.
The Swans will be presented during the Dutch Dance Gala at the Theater aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht on 2 October.

The VSCD Dance Panel on CACTI (Nederlands Dans Theater II) by Alexander Ekman: "The young Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman (1984) has created a catching and somewhat cheeky choreography with CACTI. His multitalent shows from the fact that he does not only control the movement, but the music, light and set also come together beautifully. There is a clear dialogue with the classical music. It is a refreshing and imaginative piece that is danced at full speed in lovely large formations. The addition of text gives it all an extra intelligent and humorous edge. CACTI has something peculiar, which is exactly what makes it so popular."
