I made the video in Turkish to send the main dealer as a preview of what's going on with the car. The steering wheel and ECU were replaced with new ones, nothing changed. I think it's caused by a super low quality wiring loom, but I couldn't get any of the dealers search for the problem, they just love changing easy parts that cost an arm and a leg. I'm going to contact Mercedes-Benz Turkey main dealer, I hope they'll listen to me and spend some time on the car.

The car is probably around 25.000 kms at the moment. This weird error only happens at tempratures below 17-18 degrees C. Never had one in the summer.

Airbag error is something else, I think it's wiring loom related too.

If any of you Smart people had the same, or a similar problem, please post it here.

  • and mine has the same problem. the worst is that with no reason the car stop responding and goes off.

Smart here in Greece does not recognise the excistance of that problem...

    Daimler sucks

  • @dimis1987 The problem is gone! I had all the wiring room inside the cockpit removed and checked, and they found a worn cable that was causing shortcuts. It's fixed, no more ABS / ESP errors, no more Airbag errors.

I had the error only below 17 deg C, especially on cooler temperatures, but never in Summer days. I've tested it down to 5 deg C, it's fixed.

Now I need to have that crazy 414k km odometer readjusted to 33k as my computer says I have 7k left for my 4th dealer visit (40k)

  • What repairs have you made to the car so far to get it to such high milage? Mine is at 30.000 and runs great, w/ the obvious cracked air con pipe.

  • @MihaiGR The video is all about the computer error that makes the odometer go crazy. The car has only seen 3 service intervals, so it's originally between 30-40.000 kms.

  • dude , have your problem been solves ? i am having the same problem but it is costing too much to fixed here in malaysia. help ! need your advice.

  • dude, i dont know much french though when my roadster decided to kill the ABS ESP ETC.... I found it was simply having a low level of break fluid. Switching off the car fixed the pblem till you hit the first roundabout at a speed, this triggers the float switch as the break fluid shifts to one side and the car just loses all its senses!!!

  • Ne oldu arıza düzeltilebildi mi?
