This lecture will focus on some of the questions Muslims receive from non-Muslims who do not have a clue about Islam. They ask:

How can you remain Muslim when there are people in the name of your religion committing atrocities? How can you substantiate and represent a faith that has people who have committed atrocities. Why do you remain Muslim?

The objective and aim of this lecture is to establish why we continue remain Muslim. Why we choose this great noble Islam, that was delivered to us in its completion and finality by the greatest of the prophets, and the best of teachers, and the chosen one of Allah, Muhamad (peace be upon him).

Ustadh Yahya Ibrahim was born in Waterloo, Canada. In his quest for authentic, classical Islamic knowledge, he travelled to meet and study under some of the most prominent scholars of our era. While attending the University of Toronto, he would travel regularly during his free time to further his knowledge of Islam.

Being proficient in Arabic and English, he grew up translating live for English audiences Arabic lectures delivered by visiting Islamic dignitaries from all around the world. Yahya Ibrahim began memorising the Qur'an at the age of 16 and finished 20 months later, receiving an ijazah (certification). He began lecturing at the main mosques in Toronto at the age of 17 and has been involved in the Islamic community as a lecturer and translator since 1995, alhamdulillah.

Ustadh Yahya is blessed now to be living in Perth, Western Australia with his wife and two children - Shireen and Omar. He is a regular lecturer to Muslim and non-Muslim audiences their and around the world. He travels in Australasia, Africa, South East Asia, Europe and Canada to deliver lectures on Islam and Muslims to a variety of audiences. He is committed to spreading a message to Muslims that empowers them spiritually and helps them integrate into the broader community. He is born in the west, raised in the west and lives in the west. A message of anti-militancy, religious tolerance, and moral universality are a part of his outlook.

Since arriving in Australia, Ustadh Yahya was a religious adviser and later a Deputy Principal of the largest Islamic school in the Australia. Presently, Yahya is attached to Curtin University as an Islamic Chaplain. He is also a director of a retail company that has grown to 13 Halal food outlets based in shopping centres around Perth and soon, insha Allah, expanding nationally and internationally.

  • @MrAlmuazzin In essence, I completely agree with you. What it comes down to is that Islam is the only religion ordained by Allah, and as his slave, I have no choice but to follow it without doubt. This keeps me Muslim. However for the majority of the Muslims, this reminder, be it an hour or two long, is necessary, because even as Allah describes the Muslims as "those who say we hear and we obey" many Muslims are not at that state today, and we need to bring them closer.

  • Why I remain a muslim, we don't need a one hour video to explain why someone is still a Muslim, I can explain it in two words " I believe" simple isn't it.
