This is my cover of a John Prine song from his 1972 album "Diamonds In The Rough". I've always imagined that he must have written this song about me.

  • I'm only listening to you because I can't find a JP version of this on you tube. As 'pleasant accidents' go this is one of the nicest to happen to me for some time. Thank you. I'll check out your other postings.

  • @MrEclecticity Glad you found the video and thanks for the nice comment. I don't think I've seen another cover of this song here, either. I play lots of Prine songs :) If you're interested, I have a couple of JP playlists on my channel that might save you some searching time.

  • I am working late these days to be able to go on a longer holiday with a clear conscience next week. I am playing my YT favourites at random in the background without watching but now I had to press Alt-TAB to watch you, Bob. Your strumming hand again... Have I told you whom I would choose if I had to say good-by to all my YT-heroes but one?

Well, there, now you have it, let me get back to work :)

  • @Zsolto66 I hope you were very busy at work so that the time passed by quickly for you, if you know what I mean, Zsolt. I thought all of Euro was on holiday in July. I guess I'm just another ignorant American :-) Also, I hope you are enjoying your time with your children these days and I hope your daughter's hiking trip went well for her. Well, here I am awake much too late again. Have a great holiday.

  • That was very good.

  • @kmfmgk Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. I've been a JP fan for a very long time and perhaps you have, too. This short song has always meant a lot to me.

  • @chaitaiji2010 John Prine's first record album was released in 1971 and he now has about 16 or 17 albums to his credit. He is an American national treasure in my opinion. Thanks for the compliment on my fingerstyle. This song has always been very meaningful to me. ~cb

  • I have not from John Prine before which seems I've missed something. Your picking is fantastic!

  • @Beelzebean Thanks for stopping by and for leaving such a nice comment. I'm glad you liked the video. ~Bob

  • Wow! Thank you for this!
