Final fantasy x starts with Tidus at the zanarkand ruins and now the story ends with Yuna in the same spot in zanarkand. They didn't need to kiss to make the moment perfect, just watching both of them together shows how much they love eachother. Cherish me yuna and I'll cherish you.

I think this ending is very beautiful even if it's not in CGI. Plus with the ending scene at Zanarkand, I also thought its very fitting too..sort of a like a foil to the beginning of FFX where Tidus stood watching the pyreflies...I kind of hoped that they would kiss, but I think how they talked and embraced each other seems more emotional to kissing, whereas that would just be romantic..
