Good eye mate! It's a new guitar all right. You may be able to tell the brand (known for its bright sound) by the bridge shape and pick guard shape.

Okay, took a better look. Taylor Grand Auditorium is my new guess. Gibsons have the moustache and Martin is flat across the bridge. :-) Still and all, new guitar - always a joy and all that magic to be teased out of it. I of course want one of everything.

The judges say they will accept that answer. Actually it's a Taylor 710ce, the dreadnaught shaped version. Had a Taylor on my wish list for a long time, finally got it. Still have more on my one of everything list too.

Thanks Mark, lot of good information you are always a big help on things,we do appreciate it.

How long did it take you until finger picking was second nature to you and you didn't have to think about it.I have come along way but it is so easy to get mixed up in the order of which strings to pick.

Good question. Way back when, I decided to really get it together one summer. I practiced fingerpicking for 2 hours a day and I felt very comfortable after 2 months, and I was playing without thinking after about a year. So it takes some time, but you can do it. Just have fun and enjoy learning and playing the songs you like, and the practice will take care of itself.
