IHS Auto Reviews: 2011 Smart Fortwo with Navi

In this episode, IHS iSuppli reviews the smallest car to come out of Germany, the smart fortwo. For 2011, Daimler puts in a new SD-Card-based navigation platform, as well as Bluetooth. While the vehicle's performance does little to impress our analysts, the navigation system wasn't half bad. But for the $1,300 price point is a little steep for what the system can do, given most smartphones have the ability to do more for less.

Yes, why don't we just ditch in car navigation for smart phones! *fail*

1. There's an iPhone connection in the glovebox.

2. There is voice recognition, you just don't know how to use it.

3. At $17k, there's basically nothing that gets better mileage other than a Chevy Cruze Eco, and that's a Korean penalty box. Also, you can't buy any new offroad car with $17k.

4. Your car wasn't even fully optioned, you can't pass judgement on a whole car when it isn't even full spec.
