The True Race of Ancient Egypt mtDNA Haplogroup X is discussed as part of the series "The True Race of Ancient Civilizations".

For each ancient civilization in the series, four methods of tracking racial groups are addressed: palaeoserology, linguistics (historical text), art forms, and genetics. These methods prove specific Ancient Civilizations never belonged to the black race.

I recently began the study of my family history by completing a mtDNA test. Through this test I discovered that I am a member of Haplogroup X. I don't think I can get any blacker and dark brown skin is highly prevalent on my mom's side of the family. As I learn more about my family, I hope to learn more factual, unbiased scientific data about Haplogroup X as well.

@TrueBrandy Well depending upon your subgroup of mtDNA Haplogroup X you most certainly can have a dark skin tone. I'm not saying you can't. These videos are simply to show the actual haplogroups which took paths in and out of Egypt around the time of the ancients. Your origination point is still in Western Asia but you probably had ancestors which travelled back into Africa, most likely further south such as Ethiopia as I have seen pictures of Ethiopians with X and had skin just like yours

@TrueBrandy Of course it is also quite possible you were only in one of Northeast Africa's more southern countries like Ethiopia or Sudan long enough to obtain your skin color and then moved north into Egypt or out of the continent. With your haplogroup there is evidence of back-migrations from Asia into Africa which most likely gives the reason for your skin color which had to adapt to Africa's harsh climates. @mideastatheist Ancient Egyptians came from the south and originated in north east africa. Not the caucus mountains. They were always a varied group of individuals . Some lighter ,some darker . The term Caucasian is a fairly inconsistent term, do to its origin.
