@Casepac Yes, absolutely! Do you know anyone who is allergic to shellfish? It's not the clam, oyster, or the lobster, it's the natural IODINE. It can kill. When these iodine laced dyes are used inside your spine, they can cause a condition called Arachnoiditis. This condition destroys the nerves inside your spine causing severe horror screaming pain that will last the rest of your life,and will never go away, a life of hell on Earth with many committing suicide to escape the pain! Look it up.

OMG... this girl is a joke! Very scary that they don't tell you the truth about this procedure. NEVER LET ANYONE PLACE ANYTHING INTRATHECALLY INTO YOUR CEREBRAL SPINAL FLUID ! NEVER! Google "Arachnoiditis" & "Pantopaque complications"

@Casepac Yes definitely. I Had a severe reaction and was rushed to the er and pumped full of steroids. Now If I need to have a test where it needs to be used they do a prep. Meaning they give me Prednisone and Benadryl every so many hours a day for several days ahead of time.

@dagoods16- Never heard of that one before. I am allergic to IVP Dye and had a reaction with hives and breathing problems. But I am not allergic to Shellfish or salty foods.

There is people allergic to Iodine. Actually people can be allergic to almost anything, some women are allergic to their couple's semen but not to other guy's semen, also you can have hypersensitivity to certain drugs/foods (you may not be allergic to Iodine but still be allergic to the contrast dye) that can lead to anaphylactic shocks that can literally kill you. Also you might not be allergic today to penicillin and the next time they inject you with it you can have a huge reaction to it.

Yea man, u could DIE!! Many studies say that if you have any allergies @ all it puts you @ higher risk to an allergy to X-Ray dye. People allergic to X-Ray dye are often allergic to shellfish, and highly salted food...true story!
