The Gadget Show revisits the Mac vs PC debate by pitting a lowly Macbook against a Sony Vaio of much higher spec. Can the PC finally win a video editing challenge if they stack the deck in its favour?

  • thumbs up if your watching in 2011

  • This is absolutely bullshit. Gadget show, what the hell? Your recommending a mac because pinnacle failed? Pinnacle is not good with HD footage. I recommend sony vegas or premiere pro. Pinnacle is terrible software. And get an i5 processor with a dedicated graphics card and 4gb ram or more. An i7 is a must for full HD footage. These guys seriously don't know what they are on about. Mac is good though I admit, but it's down to the power, graphics card, RAM and software. Fail.

  • @isaiahmk989 ok

  • @FrogSplash100 i wouldnt thumbs up even if it was 2011

  • mac wins with built in ready to buy software genius

  • ive got that viao lol

  • I guess you can say having to buy software to run on widows that is worse than free software on a mac is the "windows tax". If I paid $89.18 for a program I would expect it to work perfectly. In a small amount of defense for the windows side, you should do video editing on a desk top with minimum of 4 gigs especially if your running antivirus software in the back ground taking up processor power. I use 12 gigs of ram to edit HD video on my iMac.

  • @PhobiaGuy Yep, in a world full of fast technology, why not expect the best right? ;'D

  • @F1NNAZ im running a sony i7 and Pinnacle takes a lifetime to do any tiny task, sure its easy to work, but dont expect your masterpiece done before 2013. The preview of your efforts do what suzy's did about 2 FPS!

Power director is better if you have the hardware, but again not so smooth.

my pc could heat my room when editing lol

most people want to just chop up clips, stick em together, add sound to taste, and transitionS, IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

  • @tlaroche38 as I said that was recommendations for now. I was talking about the software and what people should get for now, I know there was only core 2s back then. But yeah :) I wouldn't say final cut is good.

  • @F1NNAZ Umm, there was no i5 or i7 in 2007. The whole intel i series didn't exist yet. But I do agree that if the pc and the software was better then it may have won.

  • @snipperacoustics no one of the new AMD 6 core buldozers, tested against an i7 2600K and only 10 seconds slower when exporting a 10:30 min 720P video, AMD = 1.12 I7 = 1.02
