On June 14, 2009, a small fire started on the side of a mountain near Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park in British Columbia. Within minutes, helicopters showed up to battle the blaze. When the helicopters went back to their base to refuel, a firebomber plane dumped fire retardant on the flames.

The helis came back and continued to work the fire for 4 hours until we could see no more smoke.

Thank you BC forest fire fighters for saving our beautiful parks!

I hope Grateful Dead don't mind I used their Fire On The Mountain. Seemed like a good choice.

  • Tell him thank you very much. We were all very worried for a while because it was a bit close for comfort. They did an incredible job.
