Why do Cardinal fans think one good season makes them some sort of dynasty. Firing K won't necessarily make you contenders. It's not like great coaches are wanting to come to Louisville. It will always be a stepping stone job.

@UpStraightGee I just read about him, thanks to your post! And indeed, he was a major disaster! I remember when UNT had some conference championships! Oh well, it's not realistic to expect a long time high school coach to do well on the collegiate level. It's apples to oranges, to say the least!

@tabbygail7 Goodness gracious, it wasn't one good season, it was nine! We went to a bowl every season from 1998-2006. Then Kragthorpe inherited 16 starters from the 12-1 Orange Bowl winning #6 team in the country and goes 6-6, 5-7 and 4-8, highlighted by losing to Syracuse in the biggest upset in college football history. And firing Kragthorpe made the team better immediately. I've never seen a coach destroy a program so quickly without probation.

They don't let facts like 9 straight [shitty] bowl games [only 3 of which they won] capped with an ORANGE BOWL win [over Wake Forest] or a 34-7 destroying of [a 7-4, unranked] Alabama in the 1991 FIESTA BOWL get in their way. Since the late 80's( minus Ron Cooper's second year [what?!]) UofL was the young [100 year old] program nobody wanted to play [b/c they suck]. Schnell, Smith, Petrino, Strong, it doesn't seem like they have trouble getting good coaches [just keeping them].

Why do all you big-boys back out of playing us. Georgia sees the writing which is why they are now wanting to back out of our home and away. Coach Strong in 3 months put together a top 15 class out-recruiting schools like yours, just give him one year, and you'll see.

And the middle school stadium,It's now 67,000 all chair-back seats, we would rather it be slightly smaller, but be really, really nice. You should also check out our new 22,500 seat basketball arena.
