Chromium is the open source web browser project from which Google Chrome draws its source code.[1] The Google-authored portion of it is released under the BSD license,[2] with other parts being subject to a variety of different permissive open-source licenses, including the MIT License, the LGPL, the Ms-PL, and an MPL/GPL/LGPL tri-license.[3] It implements the same feature set as Google Chrome, but has a slightly different logo.[4] Versions of Mac and Linux Google Chrome based on Chromium were released to the development channel for Google Chrome on 4 June 2009.[5] According to the developer documentation, "'Chromium' is the name of the project, not the product, and should never appear in code in variable names, API names etc. Use 'chrome' instead."[6]

  • Right... the government is spying on 315,534,716 people through Google.. That's the logical answer. Oh and specially You sir, They know about your "porn" and "illegal" activities. BTW I didn't get that from the government, but from your video in Youtube.

...and he talks about privacy, @gotbletu please get your head out of your ass.

Next he's gonna try to convince people Elvis is alive.

just go hide in cave. You'll get your privacy and you'll do everyone a favor.

PS remember who owns youtube ;)

  • loL maybe u should stop sucking donkey dick. I already said i use google stuff, i only want to use less of it moron. Who was talking about the government in this video? ur bringing crap in that was not said by me. U think i just make shits up? go read on the side link, u just fail son lmao

P.S no shit youtube is owned by google, u just knew that?

  • online privacy is a myth. the sooner we accept it the better. iron browser as of now is just way too buggy for use. however the point is, google collects data and improves services, thats the important part. now i can get results from google chrome's address bar even before i have hit enter! beat that! i dont know, but if google is giving me awesome services, i'm willing to sacrifice a bit of my privacy.

  • thats fine and all but when a user wants to disable it. shouldnt it be disable? please read the link on the side and ull see what i mean.

  • After investigating Chromium, I found out that this browser collects data too...

According to SRWare Iron, they have a browser based on the Chromium source code which is designed specifically for privacy. Something that according to SRWare the Chromium browser can not do. For more info on SRWare check their Wiki or srware . net/en/

  • Thanks! ill check it out, the less tracking the better

  • Hey all, leave him alone, everyone is entitled to have their own level of paranoia, I have mine and I'm happy with it, LOL

  • What is so bad about Google collecting data about their users and profiting? It isn't like Google is collecting your data to sell it. There are millions of searchs and people using Chrome everyday. It would be fruitless for a Google employee to sit down and review what an individual is doing -- not to mention that Google cannot possibly know who is using the computer. The only reason it is done is so ads can be made more relevant, and therefore Google makes more profit.

  • is it safe

  • wtf

  • I think chrome/chromium and opera are going to really take off in the future. They are both telling signs of new and innovative ideas.

  • DUDE, Speak The Truth!! :))

  • I totally agree with you. I use it too , but I keep firefox still, part of the add-ons .

  • Does this mean that google knows about the horse porn I look up!?!?!?!

  • If you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear. I don't care if they give my number to a few telemarketers, I can hang up. I've accepted that it is indeed a myth, but alas, I am doing nothing illegal.

  • I dont like firefox much anymore either
