Voice performance with infrared sensors on shirt. Peformed and built by Japanese performer/composer ADACHI Tomomi. Recording of the latest version on August 2009.
10 infrared distance sensors on the shirt and each 4 buttons on right and left palm bands, 2 bend sensors on the left wrist, the front space of performer become flexible 3-dimensional sensing area, these are connected with a Max/MSP patch running on a laptop computer through a Voltage to MIDI converter, it modulates voice input in real-time. No pre-recorded materials are used. This is a trial to reconstruct the relationship of utterance and gesture.
