Diffusion cloud chamber. The radioactive source is a speck of radium from an old hand clock. All the tracks are due to alpha particles; some thin tracks due to electrons, arising mainly from the ionization by gamma or cosmic rays, can also be observed. The cooling to -30 ºC is made with a Peltier cell in a heatsink and an ice bath
