This box is made using hand tools and leather hinges by students in the 2nd and 3rd grades at Clear Spring School. Woodworking is a means to put a number of skills in action, mixing mental activity, with physical, it involves problem solving and aesthetic judgment. Unlike many of the things children are supposed to learn in school, there are not absolute right and wrong answers and kids learn from actual experience.
