Natashas mom- LIKE HELL YOUR NOT!
Natasha- *tears streaming down her face* Im not going to stop living my life and just miserably wait for me to die! If my life is going to be cut short than dammit Im going to live how I want to live!
Natashas mom- We will not discuss this anymore. We will not support you in practically killing yourself!
Natasha- Im already dying! Im not killing myself! But fine if you dont want to be with me while I go through this then go back home! Im almost eighteen so I will stay her alone.
Natashas mom- sweetheart please just think about it! Think about what you will do to yourself.
Natasha- mom this is the way I see it. I live for twenty more years alone, miserable, and unsuccessful or I live for five years living to the fullest doing what makes me happiest. Mom I choose the second one because it doesnt matter how long im here it matters what I did while I was here.
Natashas mom- What about Nick? Huh? Are you just going to leave him alone?
Natasha- well thats up to him. If he doesnt want to be with me or support me in this than fine, I wont push it.
Natashas mom- I was referring to when youre gone. What does he do then?
Natasha- Hell find a lovely girl to marry and have cute little curly haired children. Isnt it a little presumptuous to say that I am his one true love and that he wont be able to go on without me! Five years or twenty years Im still going to have to leave him!
Natashas mom- sweetheart your family will support you in this but please consider the options. You could spend your life with Nick. You could have his curly haired children! You could live!
Natasha- I will think about it mom but thats not living that settling.
Natasha exits the apartment and drives to Nicks house. Knocks on his door.
Nick- Hey! I thought you were not feeling well. Are you feeling better? Why are you all red are you ok?
Natasha- do you want to go down to the beach and talk?
Nick- of course. Whats going on?
Natasha- I have to tell you something really important.
Later at the beach
Nick- Your breaking up with me?
Natasha- No Nick. But you might break up with me.
Nick- You cheated on me?
Natasha- *manages to giggle* No but can I please just say what I have to say.
Nick- sorry
Natasha- Nick earlier today after I left your house I wasnt feeling well so I went to the doctor. He told my mom and I that. I have leukemia and that I have had it for a while without knowing.*her voice falters and she begins to tear up* Now I only have two options. And Ive come to share my decision with you. Im going to keep living like I dont have Leukemia and try my best to continue my career. The doctor said that if I do this Im only going to live for about five more years. This is where you come in.
I want our relationship to continue because weve been through a lot and despite everything I love you but if you choose to stay with me.I dont want our relationship to grow stronger and then Ileave.
Nick- Stop right there. This is the hardest time of your life right now and your concerned about my feelings? Do you remember the morning after you found me at that party and you said. if you love me you can consider quitting and if I love you then I wont let you go through that alone? Well Natasha I love you and there is no way Im letting you go through that alone..but
Natasha- ugh why does there always have to be a but?
Nick- but the doctor said you could live a lot longer if you gave up your career huh?
Natasha- well yeah but im not living like that.thats not even living thats waiting to die!
Nick- Well have you thought about what your life could be like if you did give up your career? You could live happily. We could live happily!
Natasha- You really think that that is true? I mean how do you know Im even the one youd want to be with for well forever.or at least twenty more years.
Nick- Because I just know. Because I love everything about you. Because I hate when we fight because I hate hurting you. Because your scent keeps me breathing and your smile gives me strength to keep going. Because youre the one person in my life who knows everything about me and still loves me. You understand me and I understand you and finally because.I never want to lose you but I would take one day with you over forever with someone else.
Natasha broke down and fell into Nicks arms crying.
Nick- *whispers in her ear* Ill love you no matter what you choose
Natasha looked up at his face- I love you so much. Thank you for supporting me.
Nick tilted her chin up and tenderly kissed her. He pulled her closer and held on to her tight. He broke the kiss and leaned his forehead against hers.
Nick- I love you
Natasha- I love you more than anything
Nick- Marry me.
Natasha slightly leaned away to look straight into his eyes.
Natasha- are you serious?
Nick- Yes. Im going to spend my life with you.
Natasha- *smiles the biggest smile* Im yours!
