Fractured Anterior Teeth have been saved and restored by Root Canal treatment, Crown Lengthening Procedure, Fibre Post, Composite and Ceramic Crowns.
The case presented is an accident case, where patient has broken 3 upper and 1 lower front tooth in an accident about 6 month back. He has been advised of extraction of upper 3 teeth followed by replacement as Removable or Fixed prosthesis. Fixed prosthesis like Implants are out of reach financially. Only option patient found viable was replacement with Bridge. At DDCRC, our opinion was that the upper left lateral incisor; although seems to be in perfect health, both radiographically and being asymptomatic but it seems to be extruded and there are very much chance that it also had faced the trauma but is not showing any symptoms at this time. By including it in the fixed prosthesis, there would always a chance of failure of this abutment due to any reason.
Our aim list includes: * To keep the trauma teeth independent from its adjacent teeth * Save the natural teeth * Economical * fixed final prosthesis * Durable in terms of retention and material * Fewer precautions for the patient to remember * Aesthetically pleasing and in harmony with adjacent natural teeth
With the above list, our treatment plan presented to the patient: * Root Canal Treatment of Fractured teeth * Crown Lengthening Surgery for upper 3 teeth * Fibre post and composite build up for lower teeth * Composite core build up of upper teeth * Final prosthesis of PFM Ceramic crowns
