http://www.WestwoodASL.com Here we go, the Pledge of Allegiance done nice and slow for those of you who want to learn it.

This is a conceptually accurate ASL version of the Pledge of Allegiance. By "conceptually accurate" I mean that this has been translated to be completely accurate in ASL. For those of you who might use "English-like" signs (aka PSE or SEE), you'll see a big difference because instead of following English (and thus making no sense) it is signed purely in ASL. Thus, someone who is fluent in ASL can watch this video and the Pledge will make perfect sense to them. (For those of you who are unaware, ASL and English are completely different languages.) So, if you compare this to many other videos you see on YouTube, you'll see that many of them use PSE or SEE, but very, very few (like thid one) will be signed accurately in ASL.

  • Could you do step by step? I want to learn it so I can teach my class :)

  • @xiBeTaylorx Hi there! Just sign along with the slow speed version. Pause it as necessary, go back if needed. ASL is not the same as English, so this is not a "sign for word" translation. Instead it is a conceptually and liguistically accurate translation directly in ASL. Good luck learning it! *smile*

  • ithink it would help a little bit more if he spoke so i know what sign is for what word.

  • @MrErwin887 This video is intended to be a review for my ASL students that have already learned it in class, but need to practice at home. In addition, this is signed in ASL, so it is not the same as English (sign-for-word). However, the "normal speed" video is done at the same speed as it is spoken.

  • I did that in class.my teacher thought i was retarded .now im sad.

  • @kierrayoung23 I'm sorry your teacher thought that. Is this an ASL teacher?
