YouTube censors comedian's anti-Sharia video called 'Welcome to Saudi Britain'

A comedian has been censored by YouTube for making a film in which he condemned the existence of Sharia courts in Britain.

Pat Condell, an outspoken atheist and veteran stand-up comic, uploaded the clip called "Welcome to Saudi Britain" to the popular video-sharing website following claims that judgements made under Islamic law are now legally binding.
In the four-minute clip he denounces the "patriarchal bigotry" of Muslim men and the "corrupt" regime of Saudi Arabia.
He refers to women wearing burqas as "letterbox ladies" and ridicules a Muslim warehouse worker who is suing Tesco for making him carry crates of alcohol.
Condell also pours scorn on the "social engineering" and "doublethink" of the Labour Government and urges viewers to sign a Downing Street petition against the adoption of Sharia in Britain, which has received more than 4,000 signatures.
However YouTube, which is owned by the internet search engine giant Google, has removed the video from its site because of "terms of use violation".
It had been watched more than 40,000 times in the 24 hours after Condell uploaded it.
YouTube has also threatened to disable his entire account if he commits "additional violations".
A spokesman for the website said: "YouTube has clear policies that prohibit inappropriate content on the site, such as pornography, gratuitous violence or hate speech. Our community understands the rules and polices the site for inappropriate material. When users feel content is inappropriate they can flag it and our staff then review it as quickly as possible to see if it violates our Terms of Use. If users repeatedly break these rules we disable their accounts."
Mother is denied pill by Muslim pharmacist

Ruth Johnson, 33, who has two children, including a month-old baby, had not been using her usual method of contraception with her fiancée.
She went to the Tesco dispensary in Hewitts Circus, Cleethorpes, Lincs, and asked an as assistant for the pill Levanelle.
Miss Johnson was told it could only be dispensed by the locum pharmacist who was called to speak with her.
She said: "He came out from behind a screen and told me that he would not be allowing me to buy the pill from him because he had a right to refuse to sell it on the basis of his personal beliefs.
"The pharmacist was of Asian origin so I asked him if it was because of his religion and he replied 'Yes'."
Miss Johnson, from Cleethorpes, was left feeling ashamed and worried and complained to the store manager who told her they couldn't force the pharmacist to sell the product.
She said: "I asked him if a Jewish or Muslim checkout operator could refuse to sell pork or alcohol or if a Jehovah's Witness could refuse to sell birthday and Christmas cards."
Her concern is that the policy could deter teenage girls from seeking the morning-after pill.
"I appreciate we live in a multi-cultural society but what gives him the right to impose his beliefs onto me?" she added.
A Tesco spokesman said the pharmacist was acting within his rights to refuse to sell the pill and the customer was advised where else she could buy the product.
I wouldn't say just islam is guilty of that, i think all the religious freaks are guilty. also, the world needs to see the 'ziosexuality' of israel, that anything pro israeli, no matter how illegal, is acceptable, and anything against it's immoral inhumane nazi regime is 'anti semitism' same goes for every other over sensitive fucker out there.

Great video Zero, this pandering to the religious masses really has to stop. Christians, Muslims, Jews etc get up in arms when we criticize their religions, but when their religious views stop normal, rational people from leading their lives... we have a problem. As for YouTube.. honestly, stop bending over for these moronic nuts. The world needs more people like Pat Condell as he is extremely intelligent and eloquent. YouTube should be a safe haven for free thinkers and free speech. Peace BH

Well you know if the peacefull religion gets their anti-blasphemy law into place (which the UN has passed -so much for protecting human rights), then they will try to use it against YouTube.

I gave up on listening to the speeches and rhetoric of the elections sometime in '07; that lil bit however, was the best thing I have heard a public office runner say in a long time. Just, too bad that obama still had to placate and suck up to the religious in this country to run; much less win.
