This video is from Occupy Raleigh's 99+1 Action Weekend in recognition of the 99th and 100th days of 24/7 continuous occupation! This is from #J21 which was day 99. The symbolic 99th day fell on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court's Citizens United Decision. With this in mind we chose to "drum out" Citizens United in front of the NC Supreme Court. Why the NC Court? Well MT recently decided corporations are not people and money is not speech. We want our state to do the same!
Following the drumming we staged a funeral for the integrity of our electoral and political system before taking an impromptu march down Fayetteville St. The march was in lieu of a candle light vigil due to the rain! 54 Occupiers toughed it out in the elements of soaking rain and falling temperatures.
