I have been going back and forth deciding to get a FlipHD Ultra, FlipHD Slide, or Kodak Zi8. I went into best buy and ended up buying a Samsung HMX-U20.. However the store I was in didn't have it in stock. I ended up looking online and saw it had horrible reviews. So when I went to the other BB to pick it up, I went with the FlipHD Ultra. The video recording features on the FlipHD slide didn't look much different than my HTC Touch Pro 2 and both FlipHD Ultra and Slide have the same video engine. So for 100 dollars more, I didn't see an advantage. I didn't like the mono audio on the Zi8 so went with the FlipHD Ultra. Also the Flip MinoHD felt too small in my hands for stable recording. I have a Panasonic PalmCorder as my "primary" video recording device but for a point and shoot device, I'm happy with the FlipHD so far. Then again I've only had it about 24 hours now, time will tell. :) Today was a bit overcast but the quality still came out pretty well. (Note: Waves were recorded from the camcorder and the background music and transitions were done via the flipshare software)
nice vid! i ordered 1 from amazon and ill probably get it today or tomorrow

@wmx99 The only real problem with the U20 i would say is its low light performance... or lack there of. Amazing outdoor quality.

@lactoseme I have a Flip UltraHD and it's good, although it has some issues: for example, the left mic clips sound when the sound is too intense. Can you upload a video with your HMX-U20 cam recording with a loud sound to see if it clips too? If not, thanks anyway. :)

@lactoseme That's good to know. Currently there aren't very many youtube vids showing the quality on the U20 which made deciding more challenging for me. Most of the ones I found were on the U10. Specs wise, the U20 has best of Flip and Zi8. I'm using the ultra compact flash camcorder as a cell phone replacement mostly. In reality online posts of videos from all three devices look pretty much the same. So in the end, I got the UltraHD on sale for 150 and so far seems to do the job well
