I am a student of Philadelphia public schools, this woman totally mismanaged the money, used loans to help out her friends companies instead of giving it to the schools and therefore making massive cuts have to happen even more than the ones that are already happening all over the country. People were BEGGING for her to leave, she finally did with the check- meanwhile while the district is scrambling to get back on it's feet, she goes and does this. It was a huge slap in the face to us students.

@cheezbawl2003 I agree with you the curriculum is garbage. Private education is the only solution. Not "private schools", those are run by the government. Real privatization of the education industry is what we need.

The reason that there is so much corruption and inefficiency in the education system is because it has been nationalized. The government has nationalized the education industry, financial industry, the insurance industry, the healthcare industry, the automobile industry and regulates every other industry into the ground.

I wish they would reform our schools. No Child Left Behind took away all autonomy of teachers. They still get paid shitty wages, they have an enormous workload thanks to weekly tests and paperwork, and they get yelled at for having low scores by administrators that don't do anything but sit on their ass and collect a fat paycheck.

Teachers aren't allowed to form a lesson plan anymore so it is silly to blame them for bad scores. To top it off, we PAY companies to develop said crappy curriculum.
