JOB DESPERATION IN THE GREAT DEPRESSION

This coming depression has the potential for being "worse" than the great depression of 1929. Here is the reason: Back in 1929 our money was backed by gold and silver. It is backed by "nothing" but faith in the federal government now. Although most people had very little money in 1929, "cash was king" and it had real value. TODAY paper money is just that "paper". The government will just print more & more paper money to cover these "bail-out" plans, causing a massive inflationary depression.

@inkey2 They also lived on farms and were much more rural, so they could fend for themselves better.

@ItsFazsha I can't imagine if Obama is in charge during the depression he certainly has no idea what he is even doing during this recession.

Jack if you are still around you did a good job three years ago ivesting in gold and silver. Now are you doing anything else to protect yourself. The gold and silver has to be worth at least 3 times the amount in value. What about food are you stocking up just in case?

It seems like people were tougher in those days. I think a lot of people wouldn't know how to handle a depression in the 21st Century. They're too accustomed to modern conveniences.

Obama isn't helping matters, you don't give a company like AIG billions of dollars, they tear through it then give them billions more of tax payer money. YOU DON'T REWARD FAILURE IDIOT.

"I heard a theory that the depression was started partially on purpose to give the country just what he was talking about-recruits for the military."
Actually no, the U.S. Military during the 1930s was the 5th smallest in the world.
I LOVE this man!! Thank you for sharing this stuff, it's so great to get to hear it.
