'The Blank Sheet' - Jean Francois Porchez

This is the first video for Arjowiggins Creative Papers sponsorship of the D&AD awards.

Arjowiggins Creative Papers, the world's leading manufacturer of eco-sustainable creative papers, will support the student category of the D&AD Awards this year, the internationally renowned awards that set the standard for creative excellence.

Students have been asked to create a viral movement engaging designers with a 'Blank Sheet of Paper' providing inspiration for the design community. The winning project will be a catalyst for the generation of ideas between designers and will clearly demonstrate the relationship between the genesis of the creative process and a blank sheet of paper.

To help provide inspiration to students involved in the competition Arjowiggins Creative Paper's have produced a series of videos identifying the creative works of designers from different disciplines. The videos will be released over the coming months starting at the end November and finishing in February, before the competitions deadline on the 11 March 2011.

The first video focuses on Jean François Porchez -- a leading typographer responsible for typefaces for French Newspaper Le Monde and Louis Vuitton -- and a series of typefaces he designed for the Conqueror paper range. The video outlines his creative process and the elements that guided him in the creation of the Conqueror typefaces, which are available for free download at http://www.conqueror.com/#/en/typography/types.
