Dieppe Fire truck was responding to a call and was involved in a accident on Gauvin Road at LaFrance street just after 12:30pm . There were 3 ambulances responded to the call along with a few members from Codiac RCMP. People were trapped in the white truck that was on its side and had to be extracted from the vehicle taking almost a hour. The driver of the white truck has neck and shoulder injuries and a bruise on the side of his head.
Gauvin road was blocked off for over 2 hours while first responders dealt with the scene. Road conditions were dry at the time of the accident. 2 tow trucks were needed. A man that lives across the street heard the crash and he told me that there is alot of vehicles speed along Gauvin road. Dieppe Fire station is on the Gauvin Road, accident took place not far from the station.
Video aired on Global News sunday evening & will air on Global news tonight at 6PM Dave Crase doing a story on it.
Video also aired on Rogers TV on 2 Bon'heures with Marie-Emma Parenteau.

  • WOW, I hope no one is seriously hurt or at least make a speedy recovery. Those fire trucks are built like tanks. Nice catch as always Chaser!

  • DAMN! That's crazy!

  • This truck has been repaired and returned to service starting today, May 14th 2010.

  • Shit i live 5 mins away from that crash!! i saw that happened, well kinda.

  • crazy what people do around emergency vehicles

  • Oh well, Dieppe F.D. finally gets a new Medical First Responder truck.

  • Hard to beleive that they were trapped in that cube van, there is no visible damage to the side that was hit, other than the cargo box along the bottom, but nothing apparent to the cab of the truck.

  • Backing out,or pulling in,obviously did not respect the flashing warning lights or possibly the siren of the emergency vehicle, either way that would put him at fault.
