  • @aleksgrujic i totally disagree aleksander. yaron is not imitating jarrett (i dont think jarrett ever reocrded moon river anyway). Jazz has always evolved through imitation. coltrane from dexter, bill evans from tristano, jarrett from paul bley etc.

people dont just fall out of the sky with a style. herman used to have a strong jarrett influence but today he is developing his own unique sound. have you heard "follow the white rabbit"? or have you been to his shows? he has his own voice!

  • hi, i see what you mean BUT bare in mind that he is young , and this is a very early recording he was maybe 22-23. his last albums and especially the last one are a proof of him finding his own voice, you cannot judge an artist because of one video. if you really understand the process of style development you will agree with me that it takes time and i believe herman is on the right track. Its easy to ignore influences but harder to use them and evole. im sure he's more critical then you and i.

  • @franckbeckjazz

hey Man! Wake up please ....! please you should use your ears with intelligence

I agree Aleksander . Yaron Herman hasn't his own voice . it's Jarrett Language but without Genius of Keith , Keith's spirit , Keith's sound . Of course all great musicians have been influenced by other giants , but they 've created anyway their own style , but Yaron Herman is not a genius , just a talented pianist , not a genius . This Moon River version proves it if you have good ears

  • Herman, again with this clip?! I think it's against the policy of being artist when you quote someone and make career of it. Again, what would Jarrett said if he would listen to this? It's not nice to use intelectual property of other people just because most of the people and even musicians cannot understand what are you doing.

You should leave Keith Jarrett legacy and stick with your pop music remaking, that's what you do truly amazing!

    All the best!

    Aleksandar
