William "willie" Jones USA Meritorious service cross for going "over the top" in a hail of machine gun fire to save 2 Australian wounded officers He was never the same upon his return home to Anderson,sc. He died of strange lung disease he believed was from the gases used by the Germans. The shame of it all was that the Vet hospital denied his problems were from the war. This is how a hero is treated ? Sad. God bless u Willie, and thank you.

they're like demolition workers with hardhats and tools, but they destroy life as well as property.

@R80ACMILANO If you still haven't gotten it, it's from Medal of Honor Frontline. I don't remember the song name.

Canada and the U.S. were the two main allied forces in the war. The Canadians did some impressive stuff at Vimy ridge, and the Americans did some impressive stuff in Marne and Amiens.

@McPuffins509 oh i apologise i thought u were referring to WW1 i accept in WW2 americans did a lot d-day and such. I was face palming because i thought u were reffering to WW1 where as you said japan was an ally and america contributed something like a 200th of the total allied forces and joine din quite close to the end of the war

@Jamesminson please explain??? facepalm doesnt cut it sorry....yes i know japan was an ally in ww1...i was talking ww2. it was a joke......and if you think the treaty of versailles was thoroughly enforced, just ask the ppl of austria. and the ppl of the sudetenland...and poland...and france...and russia...and even though the US was only in the war for a year, they were the main reason the war ended when it did...just "read history" and read what the german generals had to say...

@McPuffins509 *facepalm please read history before commenting

excellent quality of footage and reading of some comments we learned nothing . A persons nation does not make any difference in life or death ,,,, there was bravery cowardice brillance and stupidity . Thats war and we are unfortunately good at it ,I honor all who fought but shun all those who gave the lives of the these men and women so easily .

@uafchris i was refering to ww2 sorry...and dont think japan wouldnt have invaded canada if the us wouldnt have been there.....and i dont believe ww1 was really "won" by anyone....a half ass treaty with little to zero enforcement...
-
@McPuffins509 Not really, Japan was on the allied side in WW1. Also the war was pretty much won before the Americans even saw action.
the reason canada was in it longer is because they were with england...without the us...the whole world would be speaking german...and canadians would be singing OH JAPANADA!

My Great Grandfathers father fought in this war. He was a German serving his Emperor. I believe both sides fought bravely. It is sad that we had so much in common, we had to fight each other.

@coinman1909aka I agree with you. It is sad. I respect your Grandfathers service and recognize it as well. God Bless.
