Did Jesus Actually Die on the Cross? Responding to the Islamic Claim

Muslims deny a central doctrine of the Christian faith: that it was Jesus who died on the cross. This video is a response to this claim.

It is also the Gospel of Peter that states that Jesus did not die. The Gnostics had written about this for many years (well before the Qur'an was written). Many of the early christian texts speak of this belief of Christ not rising from the dead.

@jfrontier1 The Gospel of Peter speaks of Christ being "taken up" but then the text goes on to discuss His body being handled, having the nails taken out, laid in the tomb, etc. which would imply He was dead.

Im surprised that you have only read the Quran now, I figured you would have read it years ago being such an avid reader.

It's amazing that some people even deny the existence of Jesus outright. They're like the people who deny the holocaust.

@preachinshawn I have been slowly reading it for years. Thing is, because Islam hasn't particularly been a key area of interest for me I have kept laying the Qur'an aside and picking up other books. Slowly but steadily though.

I don't get muslims, they also believe only God can judge them and yet they believe Jesus is coming back to judge..?? Their practically admitting he is God with some of the things they say.

It shows a false prophet of Islam when he was dying and he didn't just look like a man suffering from a disease, he looked like he was on he's way to hell. It's so creepy !!

@preachinshawn Bad comparison. There is lots of evidence to support the case for Christ, but very little evidence that 6million Jews ever died. Not all Christians believe in the holocaust... truth is not determined by majority vote...

@megawolf7 I never stated otherwise. I merely pointed out the simularities between the 2 texts, and this is nothing new. Many scholars have stated this before I did.

@jfrontier1 The Gnostic "Gospels" are not Christian texts. They are forgeries written decades after the original Gospels.

@jfrontier1 this statement is different from the one you made earlier. To say he did not die in the Gospel of Mark and then saying that someone else suggest he did not die. Are in fact two completely different arguments.

Clearly this seems docetism, much like the Gospel of Peter. (being taken up)
