After the fatal crash that killed Mercedes driver Pierre Levegh along with 86 spectators in Le Mans in 1955, Mercedes decided to retire from the race in the middle of the night. When Mercedes returned in 1989, nothing less than 1st, second and third place was befitting for the marque of the silver arrows who once more ruled the circuit de la Sarthe and bagged the championship of that year. I was born in 1989 but I always thought a 962 or a peugeot won but now I feel discraced the it was won by a sauber merc ................it should never have happened the 1955 accident or the return of merc ...................... but at least in the 2000s they have be exterminated like a weed in lm and in group c ............. but good video none the less and great pictures.
