This patient is now almost 2 years since her treatment and continues to do very well.
For costs please contact my office. Some patients are able to get insurance coverage and this can be pre-determined by my staff.
We received FDA approval in 2010 for the continued study of vaginismus. Considerable information is available in my book "When Sex Seems Impossible. Stories of Vaginismus & How You Can Achieve Intimacy". It is available on Amazon.com and worthwhile to read the reviews on Amazon.

The treatment of vaginismus is more than just injecting Botox into the spastic vaginal muscles. The progressive dilation done under anesthesia as well as post procedure couseling is critical to success. In this video the patient discusses the importance of ongoing dilation after the procedure. A Portuguese translation is also available.

Her vaginismus was treated under anesthesia using Botox injections and progressive dilation. At the time of examination under anesthesia she had maximum spasm of the entry muscle. She awakened in the recovery room with the largest dilator and spent the next week dilating and sleeping with the medium sized dilator. She achieved intercourse at 6 days. She is now 8 months following her treatment. She discusses the treatment program.
