To New Beginnings, a Jonas sister story [Chapter 11]

(Kevin's PoV)
I know Jay has the same name as my childhood best friend, it's just a coincidence. The dreams are just dreams, right? Jay's not my little sister and I didn't name her. I don't have a little sister; my parent wouldn't do that would they? My mind is just playing tricks on me. Why does it all seem so real? Like a lost memory finally being remembered. Am I going crazy?

(a week later)
Jaylin: Kev, I can pack my own stuff.
Kevin: The doctor said to take it easy.
Jaylin: Yes, take it easy, not be waited on hand and foot.
Kevin: I'm not taking any chances. Joe, Nick, Karley get your stuff in the car. Joe you're driving again. Karley, you get front.
Nick: Hey!
Karley: I'm Joe's girlfriend! Sucka! *ruffles Nick's hair*
Kevin: Nick, make sure the front door is locked. *they all walk out, Jaylin in Kevin's arms*
Jaylin: I can walk you know!
Kevin: *slides Jaylin in the back and sits next to her*
Nick: *slides in on the other side*

(back at the normal Jonas house)
Joe: We decided that you would have our mom and dad's old room. Nick and I have to take some things outta of there and then we can get you set up in there. For now, you and Karley can watch TV in my room. *walks away*
Kevin: I have to go talk to your social worker about you staying here permanently. I'll be back later. *walks out the door*
Nick: It might take awhile, so just holler if you need anything.
Karley: Okay dad, we'll holler if we need anything!*smirking*
Jaylin: *laughing hysterically* We won't open the door to strangers either
Karley: *chuckling* We won't put the dish towel by the burner if we start the stove.
Jaylin & Karley: *laughing so hard tears are rolling down their cheeks*
Nick: Why is this so funny?
Karley: *through laughter* Because you almost always act like a dad!
Jaylin: *can barely breath* And you are the youngest!
Karley & Jaylin: Ironic! *starts laughing again*high fives each other*
Nick: *shakes his head and walks away*

(with Kevin)
Kevin: It's really ok? Jaylin can stay with me?
Social worker: Yeah of course. We just need to fill out some paper work. Since Jaylin is as old as she is, once the paper work goes through, I figure we end this. I'll mark you guys down as family so you don't need to get a foster care license or a home inspection or anything else like that.
Kevin: That'd be great.

(with Nick and Joe)
Nick: Who would have thought that they left all of their stuff behind? *throwing papers away*
Joe: I know. It makes me wonder if they took anything at all? *stuffing clothes into a garbage bag*
Nick: Who knows. *looking through papers*
Joe: *picks up a couple of bags of old clothes* Imma go put these by the door.
Nick: 'K. *looking through some old papers* Garbage, garbage. What's this? *spots an old thick folder marked "Her stuff"*

(with Karley and Jaylin)
Karley: Yeah, I do! We said it to each other like a week ago. *referring to the first time her and Joe said I love you*
Jaylin: AWW! That's so sweet!
Karley: What about you and Kevin? You guys look cozy.
Jaylin: Ewe! Kar, he's like my older brother. I don't see him that way.
Karley: You guys would so cute though!
*Joe walks in the room*
Joe: Hey you two! *kisses Karley*sits down*

(with Kevin)
Social worker: Here is Jaylin's medical card, her social security card, and her birth certificate. We'll send you the medical records and stuff once the paper work goes through. Oh, and Alexa said that you guys can come get her stuff sometime.
Kevin: Thanks Mrs. (insert awesome name here)
Social worker: No problem, if you have any questions please feel free to call.
Kevin: Will do! *walks out to his car*

(with Nick)
Nick picks up the folder and opens it. He goes through it and is amazed at what it contains.
Nick: Holy shit! *picks up a birth certificate* (A/N - For anyone who doesn't know, the birth parents get the real birth certificate with the baby's real name and biological parents names. A second one is given to the adoptive parents or whatever, with their names on it, when baby has been given their last name.)
Birth certificate read: Jaylin (A/N - Mr. & Mrs. Jonas didn't give her a middle name) Jonas born to Paul and Denise Jonas at 3:22 PM on Friday the 7th day of July 1989 (A/N - 11 months and 8 days younger than Joe) Sex of child Female, Weight of Child 6 pounds 9ounces. Length 20 ½ inches
He was right! *pulls out his phone and dials Kevin* Kevin you were right all along!
Kevin: Nick slow down, what are you talking about?
Nick: I was cleaning out some papers and came across this folder marked "Her stuff". There are old sonogram pictures and stuff, even a birth certificate...*gets cut off by Kevin*
Kevin: We have to find her!
Nick: You didn't let me finish. The birth certificate has Jaylin's name and birth date on it. Jaylin is our sister.
