Ripping holes in you bigger than the hole in your black hole theory was

guys the TFSI engines do they have a compressor+turbo like the TSI? or they only have turbo and no compressor...???
-
I ve this engine and I tell you it was horrible - 23000 km driven and the oil consumption was 70ml of oil for every 100km...
Good thing that they replaced it...on warranty

@Lambo0225 How often do you have to do service on the turbo etc.? i thought that was the most usual placement of turbo chargers on modern piston engines..
I'd guess the alternator is much more likely to malfunction than the turbo...
This engine is much better compared to, say, AUDI's new diesel v6 in terms of serviceability, just for comparison...

you said 20 valves? but it had only 16 valves? u kiddin!

I love this engine because it's very fast when you push it - but it also has a lot of low end torque which makes everyday driving much more comfortable. And the fuel consumption is almost as low as you can get with any petrol engine. This is a price/performance ratio winner for me.

terrible layout everything that is more likely to require service (turbo, oil lines, coolant lines, wastegate) IS AT THE BACK OF THE ENGINE!!!! and in front,... the alternator and throttle body.... efficient yes ..... servicealbe no

so what are the 2 new "things" added to TFSI? what´s the difference? what did they do? 10X
-
i have the 2.0 tsi inline 4 engine mated to a dsg auto box in my new vw scirocco and i can vouch vw's new turbocharged inline 4's
-
It´s a 16 Valve Engine

Why do you despise inline-fours, did one leave you for another engine?

Try driving one, you'll soon start despising naturally aspirated V6's and other V's. Max torque at only 1500rpm.
