He probably has eye sight like Byron Ferguson 20/15

@hiroyoshi86 I'd be surprised if he was using anything but gp11, it's surplus but every round is match, I shoot 500+ meters all day with gp11, and most k31 shooters I know use the same thing.

that's a crock of shit lie..that cant' be farther than 639 yards.
-
i would hate to be in your sites:)
-
it's hard to miss lol!

@subarumonkey That's where things get messy. You're better off just talking about the actual diameter of the bullet. 7.62mm = .300" , but the actual bullets used are .308" and sometimes larger. The 7.5x55 swiss actually uses the .308" bullet.
-
damn I want one...
-
So the 7.62 projectile will work in the 7.5 mil gun?

@OKBushcraft You're correct. I've heard many times in youtube ignorant comments about Switzerland and its military, because they have not been in a conflict in over 300 years, does not mean that they are not good warriors/fighters. Whatever the menace the Swiss have faced througout their history, they have always remained undettered and fearless. All of their country is a fortress and a military garrison.

Thats a hell of a shot
Its always surprised me that the Swiss army did not specify a receiver mounted rear apeture sight for the Schmidt-Rubin K31.. Especially considering the history and popularity of long range alpine shooting matches in Switzerland..
As good as the K31 is.. IMO, most rifleman would be more likely to score hits at 500+yds with an M1 Garand simply because of the superior sight picture offered by an apeture site.
Im truely amazed at how well you shoot w/ open sights at such long distances.

Forgive my inacuracy, Prior to WWI the Kaiser was watching the Swiss troops on manuveres with the Swiss leader. The Swiss army was 1/2 the size of the German army, the Kaiser asked what would they do if Germany invaded since the odds were 2-1. The Swiss leader didn't miss a step, his frank reply was they would just shoot twice.

Ive read that also.

What's with the weird way you're working the bolt? Just open and close. You shouldn't need to keep bumping it like you are.. Both my K-31s load GP11 perfectly well and smoothly. Are you using reloads?
gkvinteractive 2 years ago
Yes, they are reloads, and when I reload I only resized the neck, leaving the shoulder tight, resulting in me having to "bump" the bolt for it to completely close.
Fully re-sized brass, or new bullets close perfectly each time, but I get better accuracy with one-fired brass.
