these things are so hard to find i need a spiral gear and the other gear in the rear end

That's a pretty good piece of transportation- the simple genius of the swivel or twist in the middle is brilliant. Articulating the middle is great too but Much more costly. I think you Have found a good old design here in the "Coot" , especially for the simplicity. I don't know what the cost was but if under$5,000 new today I'd bet they would sell even still
