First time I saw Jackie Payne & the Steve Edmonson Band was in the New Orleans Creole Restaurant a funky club / restaurant in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood. They knocked me out with their tight instrumentation & great mix of Blues, R&B, Soul, & Funk all combined with Jackie's spot on vocals. I was an instant fan buying 2 of their albums from them that night. So fast forward a few years to Aug 14th 2009. I found myself in San Francisco, the band's home... well actually Oakland is their home, and found out they were playng Lou's Pier 47 close to Fisherman's Wharf, so had to go catch them. With the band's permission I shot this video at Lou's, which is a great club, although I wish the stage lighting was a little better. This song is from the band's "Overnight Sensation" CD on Delta Groove Records. Please support "Live" Blues & musicians. Ask your local Blues Club, or Festival to book this fantastic band.
