  • Just my opinion.....but this exercise is better in developing balance and stability then strictly strength. I would recommend removing the box and requiring the athlete to maintain balance with the weights in his hands all the way down and back up. He can then reset his position before he goes down again. In this form of the lift the athlete is able to "rest" his control over stability when the dumbbells rest on the box. Just my two cents
