The Phillies twice tried to sign him to play first base in their minor league system.Good thing he didn't take them up on their offer:Aside from possibly missing out on a music career,he may also have gotten shot as did their first baseman by a crazed fan a few years later.

Conway was always one of my favorites...this tune was really made to compete with Elvis, and it did....recorded on MGM. RIP to one of the best.

I continue to be knocked out even after all these years after watching this in New York City, the place Bo Diddley professed the absolute home of Rock And Roll because everyone came to NYC to be discovered by Alan Freed and this magic here continues approaching 3 million views. All I can say is: Conway, we will always love you.

He was dubbed 'the Prince of Country Music' many years ago. I have never seen him in concert by we grew up listening to him for many years. I was saddened when he passed away. He will always be the force of country and in his delivery has met no match. May you sing forever amongst the angels Conway!
