Art in Conservation is an initiative of SCR.ORG.IN, NGO based in New Delhi -- India. Promoting conservation through art

SCR has taken a step forward to wed traditions with conservation. The organization has adopted Suresh and his family from Pushkar, Rajasthan. Originally belonging to a community of snake charmers, this family has been motivated to switch over from their traditional profession to playing folk instrument been or tumbi for tourists. This effort will soon be replicated. In this way, the traditional tunes live on, and, so do the snakes -- in their natural habitat.

  • I like the music, but I still like to see the cobra charmed.
