9/11 Memorial Service for Firefighters

This memorial servicefor firefighters who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, shot on the fifth anniversary in 2006, was organized by rank and file membes of the New York Fire Department. It is held annually at a 1920s monument to the department's fallen on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. There are no politicans, there are no guest speakers, there is no discussion of war or peace. Like the service itself, this video exists only to remember the cost and mark the loss from that one particular morning.

Great Tribute Dave. Our Honor Guard attended this years memorial and had no words to express the emotion of this event. So thankful that their is a memorial for the ones that matter. "The Families and the Brotherhood". Do you happen to know who the singer is? I know she sang again this year, I am assuming every year, but her voice is amazing. Rest in Peace 343. FDNY.....WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

i am stationed at the royal netherlands navel base of Den Helder (F804) and we also do this every year but than with about 2000 soldiers and when de bagpipes and all the troops come marching down and salute, it is just amazing and our royal family (also militairy) arives and just stands between us and also salutes with us it is just amazing
