I would guess because they're both $400 devices with wireless capabilities through Cellular sattelites. Also things with a variety of features... I actually spent a lot of last night comparing which one I'd use more, and despite all the lovely cracks and hacks for the Iphones and neat programs..
It's the Kindle for me, I have a small flipphone I've had for years.. and I need a way to carry all my Reference and Textbooks.
Whaaa?? How is the Kindle vs. iPhone even comparable? iPhone is a phone which does the internet good, books bad. Kindle is a eReader which does books good, internet bad. Converged devices are usually suboptimal at everything for one. To suggest Kindle is one of them shows little understanding of the target appliication for that device. To actually demonstrate it shows even less.
Entering the URL would take about as long time on the iPhone, you had entered it previously so you could just click on it, the Kindle also has that feature.
Also techcrunch probably loads faster on the Kindle's EVDO then the iPhones EDGE.
A fair comparison would have the other guy try to type the url on the iphone keyboard
