Feral Hogs in Missouri. Because they are prolific breeders, destructive, and dangerous to livestock and other animals, feral hogs should be eliminated from Missouri's landscape.

  • i have been wanting to go hog hunting but i refuse to pay to hunt something that is causing so many problems and all of the places have breed the hogs themselves and that is not hunting to me. i am wanting to know if there are any state owned plots of land that they allow you to hog hunt on or any land owners that want the hog thinned out if you can release any of this information please email me at jbertolino12@gmail.com

  • @jbertolino12 The Conservation Department asks that all hunters who encounter a feral hog in Missouri to shoot it on sight. Doing so will reduce the feral hog population and keep the spread of this destructive pest in check. For more details please go to mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/regulations/feral-hog-regulations

  • I would love to help the Mo Dept. of Conservation out. The hogs aren't in my area but I haven't seen any lit. on where they can be found on public lands.

  • Check out our web link to find out more info about feral hogs in Missouri and their distribution.

  • im looking to come hunt the Ironton area for wild hogs. any info of where they are at now please email me ericgrable11@yahoo.com

  • can u eat feral hogss

  • I hunt in Vernon county and well go 20 miles south with buckshot in out shotguns and shoot pigs in the thickets... we kill 80 a night but they pop up like weeds

  • @budroe1000 You don't want hogs there....unless you don't like having other wildlife.

  • @4vermont

If you head shoot them .223 will work fine, i personally wouldnt try a body shot on one though. If that is the only gun you have you could probably do ok with some hand loaded rounds just make sure you use a bullet that can penetrate well enough before it expands. Commercial loads might work, but you also might wound it enough for it to run A LONG distance before dying.

  • Is a .223 sufficient to kill these Hog's ?

Thanks, I will keep my eyes open in Carter County and report any sightings.
