So I don't get it.. the cfg file is just essentially the same as binding a key in foobar itself to play/pause?

... huh? Why not just bind it.

I've tried with pg up and pg down and it won't work.

What i'm trying to do is get it to play the certain file I want by pressing a key that tells foobar to play the exact file. e.g. Binding playsound derp to f4, binding playsound Ujelly to f5 and so on, otherwise I have to alt tab out of gmod every time.
