A shame there's so little info out there about fitting a cool tube to a Tak with another preamp. I've an EG523SC which sounds great unplugged but the inbuilt TK40 preamp sounds weedy. There's also a major irritation of there being no on/off switch on it. I'd like to buy a cool tube for it but info on swapping it out is minimal. Even the Takamine site has no info on doing this. It's like they don't really want to sell the things!

You try to persuade me THAT IT SOUNDS WELL. I doubt even you can feel difference when COOL TUBE ON or OFF. You better call it MICRO GAIN.
