@Kinggdawg Haha the genes help a little bit, but I only had a 35 inch (inconsistent) vertical before I started training.

@Ikonyami how do you know what your vert is? i mean how do you measure it?

@Kinggdawg Well how most people measure a vertical is: measure your reach (how high it is from the ground to the top of your middle finger when you reach straight up). Then you either do a running vertical or a "one step" vertical jump and see what you can touch (usually it's some kind of pole or wall with markings by inches / feet). You subtract whatever marking you hit, from your reach in inches and you get your vertical. For me, I already know my reach is 7'5 (89 inches) (cont. in next com.)

@Kinggdawg And we use a tap measure there's this wall that hangs down from the ceiling. Kind of like a big door way with no door. Put a red paint on my middle finger and I jump as high as I can and hit the wall, we then get a tape measure and see how far from the ground to the point a reached was on the wall in inches, and then subtract 89 from that...
